New member in Georgia

Postby Engine Joe » Wed Apr 18, 2018 5:12 pm

Hey I've been lurking here for a while. I grew up on old Ford tractors, and currently own an MF135. All three point hitch stuff. A neighboring farmer had a Cub when I was a kid and I always thought it was cool. I've wanted one for a long time so I started keeping an eye out a while back. I've looked at a few but passed. Today I bought one. It's supposed to be a 1949 but I'll check the numbers when it arrives later this week. It came with a ton of equipment that I'll have to sort through. I recognized cultivators, and multiple planters. Also draw bar and turning discs. One owner. Original (very faded) paint. It cranks, runs smoothly, the lift works and the PTO works. It has a starter, but it's a 6 volt system. I have a lot to learn! I've ordered several books that should be helpful. I'll post pics later this week.

Congratulations and welcome! :hattip: Here is a link to a post that should get you started on your "new to you" Cub. Others should be along with a more extensive welcome.

Plan on attending the DSCF (Deep South CubFest) in Sneads, Florida, next February. A great opportunity to learn a lot from a great bunch of forum members! :{_}:

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure all your questions will get answered here. Since you are in this for the long haul, you may want to check out some of the other CubFests. The one at my place in Ohio is in June. We have about seventy folks from 14 states.

Welcome to the FORUM. Now that you have 2 posts you should be able to access the manuals at the Quick Links dropdown at the top left corner of this page. You'll find quite an assortment of information. The pictures on the TM Website (link below) will help you identify lots of the equipment that you have. Enjoy the ride!!!!

I can see going to multiple Cub fests. I'm retired! Hey I looked for the PDFs. Not available yet but maybe they'll show up soon.

As mentioned by Barnyard, the Bash in June is well worth the trek!
