Is it contagious?

Postby cleaview101 » Sat Jan 13, 2018 10:41 am

Hello from Eastern Tennessee. I recently bought a 1957 Farmall Cub with cultivators and fast hitch. I wanted to raise some potatoes and this seemed like the ideal set up. The tractor belonged to a 76 year old man who remembered driving it home from the dealer brand new, when he was 15. I see Cubs everywhere now and tempted to buy more of them and more attachments, but will have to hold off until I figure out how it all works.
I grew up in England, my first job was for a cider maker working in their orchards, so I have been around tractors all my life, but new to Cubs. I am looking forward to being part of the Farmall Cub family and learning from the wisdom that is on the site.

Welcome to the forum. You will enjoy your Cub and we are here to answer any question you have.

Contagious...I'm not sure that is the correct word. Habit forming might be a better description...I think!

You are just under four hours from a CubFest that is straight up I-75. It would be of great interest to you if you want to learn more about Cubs. Check it out here www.barnyardbash.com.
It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.

...and he knows of which he speaks...as the PRINCE of the MCC (Multiple Cub Club)!!!

Seriously, though, you should definitely try to attend his Barnyard Bash!! Lots of good folks from this forum who come together to share work on projects, tell tall tales and eat good food! :{_}:

Welcome to the forum!

If you haven't done so already, please make another post (your 2nd) and then you'll be qualified to download any of the PDF Manuals. After your 2nd post, go to the "Quick Links" link in the toolbar (upper left portion of the screen), then click on "PDF Manuals" and go to "Farmall Cub". From there, you can select numerous manuals to download, print and read. I'd suggest downloading the Owner's Manual first, because it contains all the information you need to become acquainted with your new-to-you Cub.

Congratulations and welcome. Would also encourage you to seriously consider attending the Barnyard Bash this summer.

Thanks for the warm welcome. If I understand Stanton correctly I am off to get some repair manuals now. Also need to get my serial number to check the model year etc. Also a free gas cap, doesn't get any better than that! Well maybe it does a little.
