Introduction

Postby Gary Puckett » Sun Sep 24, 2017 8:27 pm

I just bought my first Cub yesterday from the family that purchased it new in 1959. It looks good and sounds good. Time will tell. It has the one point hitch, cultivators, sickle bar mower, side dresser, deluxe seat, rear wheel weights, and the one point hitch has a device to hitch a wagon (not sure what it is called). Everything works except the front and top of the battery box is missing and the rear work light is missing. It has another one point attachment that was described to connect to a tobacco setter. They have the 90 degree pto adaptor, but cannot locate it. I also got the hand crank. I am in central Kentucky. This is my fifth tractor: 57 Ford 600 my dad bought new, 52 John Deere A, 57 John Deere 520, and 47 H Farmall.

Welcome, Gary, to the forum. Being that it was bought new by the previous owner's family, there will be a good source of the tractor's previous history, at least from what the family can remember. Too often times, a tractor that is 58 years old, it's hard to tell what kind of life it may have had. With this one, at least, there will be some information on it.

Both probably have family members that are doing genealogy. Contact that/those family member(s).
I have an excuse. CRS.
