My '51 Cub with 193 Plow

Postby Jim in SC » Wed Aug 02, 2017 5:41 am

Finally, after a couple of years, I got around to restoring my 193 plow. I've been using it for awhile, when I discovered that the colter hub was frozen up for some reason. Turned out that one side of the hub had sheared off inside, so I replaced it with a used one I got from Retrocrop (a great sponsor of the Forum!). While at it, I also bought a NOS jointer from him. I decided, as long as it was already disassembled, to strip and paint the plow IH Blue. I already had a McCormick decal waiting for it and the stenciling was simple enough. Anyway, here is the end result. It was a lot of fun doing the restoration. Here it is mounted on my '51 Cub. Oh, an edit: If anyone is interested, the moldboard is made by Chattanooga Plow Company and is mounted on the IH 193 beam.

Nice looking combination. The blue does contrast the red quite well. Thanks for posting the picture.
