My 1953 Farmall Cub and my Cub

Postby cantonzouave » Sat May 19, 2012 11:29 pm

Here is my 1953 Farmall Cub with plow and my own little cub Riley. Taken the day that I brought the tractor home. He already knew how to start it. Now I got to fin d a place to hide a kill switch to keep the 4 year old from starting the tractor. KIDS....go figure.

Until you figure out a hidden kill switch, pull one end of the coil wire off, or better yet, put a quick disconnect on the battery cable.

Unfortunately, 2 things he would know how to fix, especially the battery switch. Now if I had a full cover for my the battery box....I could slow him down a lot with a lock nut or two.. Scary aint it.

My suggestion is a key-type disconnect, rather than a lever style. Several companies make them. This way the starter can't engage. Most would require an additional cable, etc. however. Then keep the key out of reach...
