You are correct. I spoke to the gentleman a few times and kept going back and forth about selling it. I guess he finally sold it a while ago. I also agree about the white paint. I have a red 52 cub I don't think ever saw shade and has bettter paint that the white cub. I do find this cub seems much tighter overall. tranny, engine, etc...

I have a twin to that last picture (77 red cub s.n. 251787) it had the same short stripe but a black grill, choice of assembly line I guess. The hood, tank & side panels were off for a repair, blasted and painted from a shake rattle can and looked fairly well, but nothing compared to your 77 red cub. It was the only one I had then.
I wouldn't even put them plows in the ground.
