With the new map that BD got going for finding everybody, reminded me of a little exercise Em had me do last week. She wanted Google Earth on her computer, and it was NOT co-operating.... so I unloaded and reloaded it.
WOW is all I can say
Some of the guys have asked for pics of my pond and such, but all I could get were pieced together shots that really did not show it off much.
That was until I found Google Earth...
On Em's computer I could even see Ellie-Mae.
Let's see what we can spot...
and:
I can give you a clue where Ellie is ---- it is a small RED dot by my shop
Any guesses
Larry you should recognize this... although the pic was definitely taken a year ago this past spring.

Bill:
You can actually see a similar view on the farmallcub map. You will have to go east of the Moncton Airport about 1/2 klik but you will recognize the mill beside me or the pond itself.
Can you tell what the white dot is in the pond in the second pic?

Don:
I really am not sure. I just played with it for a bit. I probably could show you, but there is no way that I could explain it... I am not that good
I am currently running it in "Open GL" and haven't yet tried it in Direct X.
One thing is you do need to make sure that you can improve your resolution. For me I am using an old AcerView 34T UVGA monitor (14") believe it or not. Em has the new Thin Flat Display.... I use the old ones downstairs.. normally I need to keep it around 800x600 pixels but I have to up to 1024x768 pixels to see well on Earth. Then I have to go back to 800x600 to be able to actually see what I am typing..
The better your resolution and the better your monitor the better the view is I guess.
Well, just figured that out....
Bill. Uninstall Google Earth. Then re-install it. Choose the "Open GL" option instead of Direct X. Direct X requires a minimum of a 16mb 3D accelerator card to run and will just lock up without it... don't ask
Yeah, I am a tech, and I don't have a 16mb 3D card.... Everybody else does, just not me -- YET
I can even just make the pond out at 30,000 ft.... that is almost 6 miles up Wow

Wow!
I am still trying to get over the fact that I had a collapsable fishing rod in the camper the whole time!! Never even saw the trout that got away!
The white item on the pond surely can't be Rudi's 'Imperial Storm Trooper' cast, cause he didn't have it when the picture was taken. So it must be a swan??
