saw the pics. That sounds like a decent price to me.
Card readers can be picked up about anywhere for under $20. Big electronics stores (Best Buy etc.) all the way down to Wally World.

John:
Glad to see you were able to get a camera. Hope you got it cheap What model Kodak, out of curiosity
I have one of those inexpensive SD Card readers, they are not expensive from what I understand.
Even a SanDisk is pretty cheap... they start around $29.00 Cdn so I would think about $20.00US for a brand new one.... there are generics that are available and I will see if I can find a link for you..
Here is the one that I bought for Emilie:
SanDisk ImageMate 12-in-1 USB 2.0 Reader/Writer
This is a 12-in-1 reader and reads all formats that are currently available from SD to XD Ram cards... this is the best deal if you are thinking on getting a better camera in the next year say....
if you just want to be able to capture the data from your Kodak for now, then this is a reasonable one, and I am assuming it is similar to my Kodak DC3200 which uses an SD Ram card.
SanDisk ImageMate USB 2.0 SD/MMC Reader/Writer
I have a PQI Travel Flash Reader --
no built in RAM or anything, just install and insert the card... acts just like an external USB disk drive... you grab your data and move it over to your hard drive. This one is retailing for $12.00US. It is a good item and works well under Win98x and it is compatible with Win2k, ME, and XP as well as Mac O/s's.
I use Microsoft Powertoys for Win95 -- the Sendto.dll extension toy which gives me the ability to move or copy and send to specific folders and such... extremely good utility that I even install into my XP OS.
If you do a search you can find them on eBay as well.
Hope this helps.
Oh, also if you use the Image Resizer in WinXP, simply right click on the pic (in Windows Explorer) and click Resize. Then choose the 640x480 resolution (Small) and it will do it's thing in a sec. Then simply upload that pic and poof all done. Does the same thing as IrFanView.
Oh George, thanks for the neat shortcut in IrFanView... learn something new every day

Yup, gettin off topic can be easy at times.
K, just been through this with Ellie's Head - Am I in Trouble?
My CaseIH Dealer Crew chief said not to use the copper coat... just dip in oil. I thought long and hard on that and that is what I did. Even though I was tempted to use the copper coat - I chose the dip in oil approach. No disrespect to any member's opinion here, it is just a difference of opinion.
As for torquing.. well it is 45 ftlbs in increments of 5 or 10 lbs at a time starting at 10lbs. This also was the chiefs recommendation.
I would go with Cowboy's recommendation. No sense taking chances.
Which reminds me.. that is something I can do whilst I am awaiting seat time. Recheck the torque on the head bolts......
Thanks for the reminder.
Oh and the proper sequence and stuff is in the GSS-1411 Service Manual, can't remember which page though.

Jon, head bolts torque to 45 pounds dry, but if using antiseize reduce to aobut 60%. Stat at the center and work outward in a circle progressively tightening. No, don't use antisieze on gasket. Use copper Coat gasket compound. it's made specifically for head gaskets. I use it on the bolts as an antisieze and selaer also.

here we go again
Anybody in need of a slightly used c-60 head. its got a wonderful paint job, been freshly resurfaced, oh by the way, its cracked. big discount given.
snuck out this evening, to my friends home to put the head on. got it done. looked great. no leaks around the head or any of the bolts. but as she warmed up, water began to seap through the head, between number 3 & 4 cylinders.
what are my options?
welding?
getting a replacement head? (ralph ya got one)

1. the first place i call is JP's. thought i give ralph a chance, everybody talks so well bout him.
2. Anyway, ended up going the new route, CaseIH, still got a couple close to me.
3. Got it (new head)installed last night, and she purs like a "sewing machine"
now comes the mounting of the new emblems (no holes in current hood), that'll be fun i am sure.
4. is the resurfaced head, with teh hairline crack, repairable, or is it a nicely painted and shinny door stop? anybody need one?

That narrows it down to about four hoods. The rounded hood that the aluminum emblems belong on have no ribs on the sides, and have no recessed place for the emblems.
Are you sure you have the right hood?
