Need picture of George Willer's front tie down bolt
Does anyone have a picture of this. George took a 1/2" bolt that would thread into the crank pulled. He welded a length of 3 or 4 chain links onto the head and then used a chain to hole the front of the Cub down for hauling.
Thanks, Bob

Yes, I'm pretty sure I have it. I will look it up when I get to my computer...probably in the morning. Do you want it posted or emailed to you?

Think I would rather run some square rod through the cultivator mount on front to tie down with.

Shane, it can be left in, only needs removed to use a hand crank.

Gotcha, I thought it screwed into the crank where the threads are. My bad.

Nope, you have to reach in below the fan to put a nut on.
Regarding use of the square implement mounting point, this tie down can be used even if the other point is un use by an implement! My own preference is to use a pair of axle straps, one to each side of the center pivot. The axle straps work well whether you are attaching to run the chain forward or backward.

My original post was probably misleading. I was looking for the picture so Stanton could recreate the original thread and didn't remember exactly how it looked. Gary should have the credit for it, I couldn't remember who's idea it originally was.

Re: Need picture of George Willer's front tie down bolt
Didn't see the reference in this thread, so will make it now.
Here's the thread in the How To Forum that brought this whole conversation up: How to Tie Down a Cub to a Trailer for Hauling.
Thanks to Bob McCarty and Dale Finch, we now have restored the pictures taken by Gary Dotson of George Willer's front tie down. Everybody follow that? I think I got that right.

Re: Need picture of George Willer's front tie down bolt
Could this bolt be used for pulling the tractor? I have a 5/8 eye bolt that I thought of using for the tie down. Might not be good for a stuck tractor or a big Jerk ( which should not happen anyway). Just thought it might be handy at some poimt in time.

You might risk cracking the block where the bolster and engine bolt together...a common place to have a break.
