Hydraulic problems

Postby cub64 » Fri Dec 22, 2017 7:44 pm

Rebuilt the T/C unit and the pump now have very little pressure on the high side, about 10-20 PSI, have the 200# deck on the rockshaft but there is no movement at all. Put in almost 4-1/2 pints of fluid, per the book.

Did you cycle the TC 10-12 times with the fill plug out to remove air bubbles? Also, when you rebuilt the pump, did you install the little pin seal?

Hello Bob. Can you elaborate on the little pin seal? I rebuilt my pump recently but it doesn’t lift at all. I don’t remember a pin seal. Or a pin. Thanks, Steve

It's a small black rubber plug shaped like a pencil eraser (the eraser on the end of the pencil), and it's about 3/16" in diameter. If you scroll down to pictures 10-12 in this "how to", it shows where it goes: viewtopic.php?f=141&t=44196

I was just rebuilding mine today and notice that same little seal on my bench after I had reassembled the pump. I figured out where it went after pulling it apart again. It goes in a small recess between the two bronze bushings on the gear side of the pump.

I will take a look at it tomorrow. I don’t think my pump has the spot to put the rubber. I will verify the part number tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

I took the hydraulic pump apart today. The pin seal is not used on my pump. It turns out I had the thin metal spring upside down. I installed the spring correctly and it works like a champ. I appreciate all the help.
