Not sure which tractor "this tractor" is, but TM Tractor Parts sells two different versions for the Cub.

No, It is not Pipe Thread.

It is 1/2- 20 UNF (Unified Fine Thread)

1/4" pipe thread will strip out the 1/2-20 threads. That happens a lot when someone wants to use a rubber gas line and gets a fitting with a hose nipple that is pipe thread. They can be helicoiled back to original most of the time.

You can order the correct fitting for the carb and the fuel shutoff/sediment bowl from McDonald Carberator. Steel 5/16 brake line is the correct size. Check the How To forum for lots of ideas.

I got my steel fuel line off eBay, the seller had both types, one for horizontal exhaust and one for vertical. The seller was chev55beer, cost including shipping was $37.50, took about a week from Mi. to Pa. It came with fittings and fit perfectly.
