Here's a couple pics of the plow the PO used for snow. I don't know what parts of it are Farmall (if any) and what is not. I got it mounted and it operates (goes up and down) fine although the linkage is sloppy. The spring does not appear like it will function much as a trip spring at all. Is this a totally rigged up snow plow or is any of it actually meant as a snow plow? Only thing I think I was able to confirm from online pics is the way it bolts to the tractor is a 1948 style. What say you?

Re: What do I have?
Hi,
I think they have said that the first few years of Cub blades had no vertical spring on the front.
They are called a blade.
Below are pages from the Cub 54 Blade owner's manual showing the mounting parts.

Below is the whole 54 Blade owner's manual. The manual lift it shows is for Cubs without Touch Control.

Re: What do I have?
Glen is right, of course, but the lifting parts of this blade are homemade. And the ‘feet’ are homemade additions also

Re: What do I have?
Hi,
In your pic above, the grease fitting is broken or gone from the steering gear arm, between the tie rods. It should have a grease fitting like the right and left tie rods have at the outer ends. The Cub parts manual says they screw in.
You could remove one of the outer end fittings to see what they look like.
If the center one is broken off, you will need to remove the broken piece. For a part that small, an easy out might work. It should not be very tight in the threads.
The front end fittings need greasing so the parts don't wear.
They have grease fittings at NAPA.
Below is a pic from TM Tractor showing the grease fitting.

Re: What do I have?
Nice catch Glen! I probably would never have even noticed.
I'll print those pages out. I want to find or fabricate cleaner lift arms than that welded mess I have.
Thanks guys! I'll share pics of my other plow soon. That one looks to be more complete but I'll let your expert eyes give it the once over.

Re: What do I have?
Hi,
Below is the 1965 Cub and LoBoy owner's manual, it has much info about operation, maintenance, and lubrication. The experts on here recommend that people read it, if you never have. There is a Lubrication Guide pic on page 65, and a Lubrication section.
There is a table of contents on page 1.

I have a paper 1972 Cub owner's manual, and the 1965 owner's manual is almost the same.

Re: What do I have?
What you appear to have is the early McCormick blade that has some modifications. The left right swivel was adjusted by removing a bolt, rather than a pin as the later ones were. Also the tilt only had 3 holes, and 2 of them are being used by the added feet on either side. There have also been some reinforcements added
The bottom spring on the blade is not really a trip spring, it is more a shock spring to reduce the jolt if it hits something.
Here is a link to pictures of an original of that model http://www.tmtractor.com/tm-tractor/gim/early_blade.htm

Re: What do I have?
Having a '48 blade myself, I agree with John. That is basically what you have but it's been heavily modified. The mounting and blade are correct, but the lifting arm and connecting rods really look fubar.
Having said all that, it should work.
Having said all that, it should work.
Why is there never enough time to do the job right, but always enough time to do it over.

Looks fine for belly mount. Of course, you may not have the rest of it in the pics
