Today was the first day I put shorty to work. I hauled three loads of rock in my dump cart. Everything went great except after I parked it I noticed the strong smell of oil. I went looking and noticed there was a puddle on the mower with a steady drip coming from the bottom of the engine. Just went and took some pictures. It looks like the oil ran out of the hole in the bottom of the bell.
Any advice on whats causing this and how to address it. If it was a little leak it wouldn't be so ad but this is looking serious. Before today it only leaked a tiny bit, much worse today. I did drive on hills and probably had the tractor angled in every direction at some point if that makes a difference.

Re: Oil Leak Question
Check transmission fluid. If tractor parked outside, water has probably filled the transmission up and now its overflowing through the input shaft, down the torque tube and out the inspection hole.

Re: Oil Leak Question
Yeah, what Raymond said. Also, be aware that oil leaking from the front of the transmission will puddle up in the rear of the torque tube. When the tractor is pointed down a steep hill, the puddle will get dumped out of where it was collecting and run out all at once. After the puddle has dumped, the tractor will appear to have quit leaking for a while.

Re: Oil Leak Question
If the leak is engine oil rather than transmission the culprit is likely a leaking rear main seal. Requires a split, remove clutch & PP, replace rear main seal and carrier housing with new seal and upgraded housing from tst, (forum member) and reassembly. Check the "HOW TO" Section or

Re: Oil Leak Question
since the oil in the picutre looked pretty milky I am with Raymond on most likely transmission being overfull from oil and water mix. Even if parked inside they will condense water in transmission form temperature changes.

you are part of the problem!!!
