I'm curious just what the difference is between the two sickle mowers.
Both of mine are mid-belly mount with the shaft from the rear and belt drive.
They've been called both C22 and L22's and I'd love to know just what the difference is. Both are the same length and both share all of the same parts, teeth, guards, pitman arm length etc etc.
Just curious
Regards
LW Hiway

I can be very wrong but I think the c22 is for standard cub and l22 is lowboy.

Re: C22 or L22, how to tell the difference?
Hi,
The Cub 22 mower is for the Farmall Cub, the L 22 mower is for the Cub LoBoy.
One difference is the mountings of the drive to the Cubs. The L 22 mower is up closer under the tractor. Look closely at the pics from TM Tractor above that Don posted.
Below is the owner's manual for the 22 mowers. It is for 3 different mowers used on 3 different IH tractors. There is cutter bar maintenance in it also.

Re: C22 or L22, how to tell the difference?
Well this certainly explains things to the old man. Thanks for the replies. It would seem that both of mine are of the longer height hangers etc .
Would anyone have suggestions of finding parts like cutter bars and guards for these things? Mine are both what I would consider 5' with the cutter bar at 5' 4 1/2" long. I'd like to rebuild both in an as new condition.
As well, I'm looking into getting an engine rebuild kit for the SA's with the 123 engines. Supplier suggestions?

Assuming that the bars are both in good condition, knives, rivets and guards are available at Tractor Supply.

Hi,
Case IH dealers, have parts for the mowers, and the guys on here say that Webb's Sickle Service has parts too, Webb's is on the internet, I guess.
TM Tractor has some parts, here is their page below.
