Gotcha! Thanks for the help. I just ordered the parts from TM, last night I took the Hydraulic Drive off the tractor and inspected. I was suprised to not see a how to video on this but now I understand that its easy.

Just as Crimson Tim said, above. Buy a rebuild kit from TM Tractor Parts (good folks) and fix that problem. I'm betting that will fix your leak into the crankcase problem. Then refill the TC unit and change your oil. You should be good to go then. Keep us posted!

Well... So I rebuilt the hydraulic pump and low and behold I fired up the engine and the hydraulics worked fine for a few minutes then started to leak slowly from out of the Control Valve. I pulled the tool bar assembly all apart and the hydraulic lines off again, pulled the rockshaft off and managed to get the control valve to slide out enough to replace this o-ring without pulling the TC off the tractor. I finally just replaced this darn control valve o-ring ( I ordered it from Ron at TM) it took me a couple times to get the reassembly correct I learn the hard way but I do learn.... I had a hell of time getting it on there and used some needle nose plyers to stretch it slightly over the valve shaft so that I could then slide it down and now I think I stretched it getting it on, I hope it swells up a bit and fills the space in there nice. When I pushed the valve back in it did seem like a snug fit so that is a good sign, but I swear the o-ring I pulled off was a slightly different shape.

Do you guys have any tips for putting on tight o-rings? I did put a little marvels mystery oil on the valve shaft before putting the o-ring on.

I have a spare o-ring just in case but I am going to run the tractor today and see if the leak is stopped. I got my fingers

Next time, use hydraulic fluid as a lube.

I skimmed through this thread and didn't see anyone reference the How To forum, but could have missed it.

Here are a couple references that may help:
  1. http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=42857
  2. Bulletin GSS-1279 Hydraulic Pumps located here: http://farmallcub.com/[ Sorry, direct links to manual section is not allowed. ]/index.php?dirpath=./files/Service%20Manuals/Blue%20Ribbon%20Service%20Manuals&order=0

There is an additional thread "How To Rebuild a Touch Control Pump", but the picture links have been broken. We apologize, but we're working on restoring it.

The tractor started up and ran fine- I got the air out of the hydraulic lines and the o-ring held while the tractor got up to operating tempurature. We'll know after the tractors takes a load or too but I think the o-ring did the trick. Thanks for the tips.
