did woods stop making the L59

Postby ad4517 » Sat Sep 16, 2017 1:17 pm

i know woods has made mowers for the older tractors for decades. there is no longer any mention of the L59 on their website anymore. did they stop making it? if they stopped production that's too bad, they are a great mower but expensive...... if they stopped making them cost would be the factor why they werent selling, the used market is probably pretty well flooded with them.

Don't know but in 1992 I bought a new Woods L59 ,paid 1500 dollars and another 175 for casters wheels , was a lot of money for a mower that the Cub barely has enough power for, I was greatly disappointed by the performance of the mower/Cub.

you can also run the L59 off of a more powerful tractor, farmall A, super A and 140. i have had thoughts of one day selling the cub and buying a 140. still a great old school tractor but allot more powerful...... factory rated at 23 hp vs. 12.... also twice as heavy at 2800 lbs. do i want a modern tractor, no but a little more muscle would be nice.
