I need to set the timing on my 49 Cub. The book says to line up the mark on the front
pulley so the impulse snaps as it reaches the mark. My pulley has 2 marks about 3/4 inch apart.
Which one do I use? Thanks, Tom

Re: timing marks
The second mark is the TDC mark, first one is 16 degrees before TDC. Your pulley has been replaced, on a 49 it would have originally had the TDC mark only. Looks like I made that as clear as mud. For a magneto or static timing a distributor use the second mark. If you have a distributor and are timing it with a light, use the first mark.
