Happy Labor Day, all.
Here's a vid of my Cub with a horrible grind coming from somewhere in the rear. It's worse when in reverse and varies on the position of the deck.
What's going on here?

Re: Unknown Grinding
I can't tell from the video but check the wheel bolts for tightness.

Re: Unknown Grinding
Thanks for the immediate response! The wheel bolts are tight. It's that screetching/grinding noise that can be heard at various points in the video. I'll make a better video today if needed.

Re: Unknown Grinding
Huh.
I watched your shifter for hula action but it looked steady.
Sounds like debris getting ground or a failed bearing , but don't take that as gospel.
My first thought is of pulling the shifter cover off and looking things over. Then the pan off the lower port side under the final drive to check for debris..( new gaskets would be required).
I don't know what is grinding though.....

Re: Unknown Grinding
Use a mechanic's stethoscope or a piece of broomstick to localize the noise. You'll need some one to drive while you listen to different areas of the rear end. If you can localize it better, it'll be easier to diagnose the problem.

Re: Unknown Grinding
I heard both ground speed and engine speed noises. Ground speed...pull the final covers....bet you'll find bearing pieces. Engine speed...spunds like you have clutch fingers tapping...
