Cub mower

Postby cballman » Sun Sep 03, 2017 10:14 pm

How do I figure out which mower I have on the tractor? I think it might be a woods but I dont know how to post pic. and I am needing either pullys or bearings for a couple of the idler wheels . What do I need to look at or whom do I need to contact?

Thank you
Charlie

Hi,
Some pics of the mower would be helpful. I sent you a PM.

There could be a sticker or plate with the mower model and serial number somewhere on the mower, or rear shield.

There are Woods mower owner's manuals at the top left of the page, at Quick links, then go to PDF Manuals. They have lots of info, and the ones I have looked at have pics and part numbers :)

From the looks of the manuals and pdf files It looks like a woods 42C-3 mower. Belt size and everything looks as to match up perfectly.

There are several Woods dealers in the Lexington area. I'd try the yellow pages.

Messicks and other online tractor parts suppliers have the idler pulleys. They were around $36- each when I purchased them, several years ago.

The original idler pulleys on my Woods were riveted together. If you wanted to drill out the 14 rivets in each pulley, you could purchase the bearings. This would be less expensive, but time consuming.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Some auto parts stores have pulleys, idlers and bearings. You could take one of yours and pay a visit. Or contact a mill industrial supplier like McMaster Carr, ww Granger, etc. in the Lexington KY area.

I played around in the net till late last night. Looks like Central Equipment are dealers of woods equipment and might have them in stock. Also miy pullys are not riveted. They look to be molded around the bearing. Without tearing up the old ones it dont look like i can replace the bearing.
