Ebay cub

This cub really looks nice, but I believe customized would be a more accurate description than restored. Plus the seller went to all the work on it and used a cheap tie on seat cover instead of getting the seat redone.

That's a pretty hefty "Buy it now" price!

Well yeahbut... it has both hydraulic AND hand lift! Don't forget the hood emblem... that must add a lot... a lot more than the unique battery box.

This was run last week and is relisted. It got to $3,850 and did not meet the reserve.

That is one nice Cub!
I agree that the price is high, but if I ever run the total on my Cub I would puke 2150 color (blood). Never mind the labor! New everything on this cub cost a fair chunk of change too. Ralph is right about trying to get a decent return on 'restoring' a Cub, nobody will pay.
The stainless fastners are nice, but I agree that they should be painted and what is up with the seat cover???

Wouldn't that serial number be a 1950?

Yep, it is a 1950 model. 8)

I agree with John.....several customized items on this one disqualifies it as "restored".

This is the sort of tractor that we Correct Police like to dig into. When somebody makes a claim "RESTORED MINT!!!" and "completely restored" it should be exactly that.

The immediately obvious, some of which others have mentioned:

- 1950 serial number, he says '49 model restored to what?
- Inferior stainless bolts, including places that call for grade 5.
- Wrong front emblem in place of decal.
- Wrong lights.
- Manifold, carb, exhaust pipe etc. shuold be red.
- Aftermarket gas cap.
- Aftermarket step.
- Battery ignition and regulator charging system, may be right for '50.
- Battery box, cables.
- Drawbar side plate(s) missing.
- Plastic loom on wiring harness.
- Hood decal, depends on what it was restored as.
- Look like home-made bushings on rear rockshaft.

Probably other stuff would be obvious on a closer look.

Now guys your getting picky, but do you reckon he knows they make Reproduction dot bolts. He said he had a machine shop make every one of them. I say he has is reserve in bolts. Some people have to much money.

I noticed the bolt too as Earl has made a few sets. They weren't stainless though. I kind of like the unpainted hardware and its practical too. If need to do maintenance you can take something apart without scaring the paint job as bad. I however would not subsitute lower grade hardware. Stainless is nice in areas where grade wouldn't be a factor. But maybe in a Cub its not a factor anyway. Probably would be a nice tractor for around $3000.00.

The seller has a 1964 Coupe de Ville for sale also, it would look spiffy sitting next to that Cub.

It's a nice one, but not what I would call restored. On the other hand everything I see incorrect can be corrected.

At least it's not rusting into the ground in a hedgerow. And he deserves credit for that. :)
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape.
