I just bought a cub, not sure what year yet, but old, It has a deluxe seat and manual lift. Isn't that an odd combination. Also how rare is the deluxe seat?

It is kind of unusual to see that combination. Most of the old timers would not spend extra money for creature comfort. Consider though, that it might not be original to the tractor. It could have been added at any time by some previous owner who had a need for the deluxe seat.

If it is a '49 model, the seat and ignition system have both been changed.

Jim, does that mean electric start and distributor ignition started with the 50 model?

Electric start was available as an option from the start. Battery ignition was available from mid-'50.

I think it's a 49. The serial # is 64214. I didn't know when they introduced the battery ignition and deluxe seat. Anything could have been changed. Someone adapted an Allis Chalmer side dresser on it. I'd advertise the side dresser for sale if I could figure out what it fit.
