rear wheels for parts tractor

Postby inairam » Fri Aug 18, 2017 7:49 am

I want to pull the rear wheels (dish, rim and tire) off a parts tractor.

Does any one have a suggestion for a specific auto or truck wheel I could bolt on to allow me to move/ tow the parts tractor around? I do not want to put it in blocks.

Check to see if the front rims bolt pattern will bolt to the rear axle. I think they will. If so, you can use rims and tires from many garden tractors or some trailer tires and rims.

So a 5 hole 4.5" center trailer wheel will work like on the front?

Many later Jeep or Ford 5 lug wheels will work.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

1980 to 1986 CJ's were 5x5.5 as well as a few other early 80's models. Go to a salvage yard with a tape measure.

This afternoon, if I measured accurately, Cub front rims will mount to the rear axle and keep the differential from dragging on the ground.

Just trying to think of some rims that you may have available that will fit the Cub. I have two each two wheeled garden tractor that the rims will fit the Cub's rear axle.

Being rather cheap, I would take the needed rim measurements and attend the local auctions and garage sales.
