I would like to also ask the same or from Advanced Auto. Mine stopped working and is stuck at about 20 psi. Stopped about a week ago.

Can I fix it maybe or would I need to buy a new one?

Call NAPA and give them the part number. They can cross reference it for you.

I doubt you can fix it. Get a new one and be safe.
It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.

I think the threads will be a problem. Most of the threads on the ones I have seen in auto parts stores had fittings on the rear for a ferrule, but If I remember correctly the cub gauge is a 1/8 pipe thread.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Most auto parts stores will not have the 0-30 psi gauge which is what you need unless it is a late model. Typical what they have available is 0-60 or even higher and the Cub engine will not have oil pressure high enough to register accurately with that range.

Hi,
TM Tractor parts has oil gauges for Cubs, they say they had them made to look like the originals. 1956 and 57 Cubs would probably have had this style, with the numbers.
I have found it is like Stan said, with a high pressure gauge on a Cub, the hand won't go up enough on the dial to register much. :)

In order to use a auto store guage you would need to relocate the gauge and use an adapter fitting. but as noted the gauge is likely too far out of range to be of any use.

A compromise between that and a reproduction is to get an generic water or air pressure gauge. They sell on ebay pretty cheap (http://www.ebay.com/itm/ARO-0-30-PSI-1- ... xycERRllh9) and are availible in a variety of mounting options and pressure ranges
