End play, with washers. Side play, there is a bushing in the end of the shaft

Here's a photo of the Hold up Hook from a post by Clintmo a few years ago http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=89806&p=711847&hilit=Fast+Hitch+Holdup#p711847;

TM Tractor used to have these made as reproductions when they were still owned by Tom & Lynn.

...and then from when Ralph was knocking Cubs in the head on a regular basis :lol:

Replace the bushings. I think there is a How To for that project. At least a thread or two. Do a search.

You might also want to make sure your pulley shield is tight. I had mine loosen up on me while mowing once and it sound like the whole thing was gonna fly apart under me!

You don't need the special fast hitch version of the mower, and you don't need to make any modifications to the mower to mount it on a Fast Hitch Cub. All you need are two longer bolts. The slight pulley misalignment is not even noticeable.

I use a twist (aka plow) clevis and a 5/8" draw pin to hold up the pull bar on my fast hitch when the mower is on that tractor. You hook the clevis over the rockshaft, then hold the pull bar up and stick the pin through the hole where that hold up bar pictured above would normally go.

The reason I use the clevis is because it worked in a moment of inspiration, and I've never gone back to make/buy the proper hook.
