Hi,
To close both valves on a cylinder, slowly turn the engine over.
Maybe the threads are just dry and have hard goop in them, some penetrating oil on the threads, and on the threads on a new spark plug might clean it up, just running the spark plug in and out of the hole several times. Put on penetrating oil each time you take the plug out.

Rotate the engine until the ignition rotor points to that cylinder's plug wire.

Thanks y'all! That thread chaser fixed it easy as pie!
Problem is now she won't start lol. I replaced plugs and wires, thought the gaps looked good but will troubleshoot tomorrow. Maybe need to file points too.
Thanks again!

Great news though, I was worried about compression but I read about 150 on each cylinder!!
Sweet.

Double check that plug wires are in cap in proper firing order . First thing to check when I been changing wires.

Re: Stripped Spark Plug Hole!
You're chasing the threads to remove carbon and rust from the threads, there should not be a whole lot of shavings. Grease up the tap and chase the threads, then blow the cylinder out with compressed air, good to go!
