I have a C-3 mower that came with my tractor (lo-boy with fast hitch). It's not in the best shape and I would much rather have a brush-cutting mower. In looking at the instruction manuals, it seems as though I could buy a C-2 and use the parts I have to adapt it to my tractor.
It appears as though the similar Woods has a different deck for different tractors, and not sure if it would work with the fast hitch.
I have the mule drive that bolts to the end of the PTO cover, and the big L brackets for the final drive. Assuming the C-2 mounting is the same width as the C-3 I should be good (famous last words)...
Anyone tried this?

Don't forget about the clearance between the front and rear wheels is less on a LoBoy. Check to see if it will fit.

Re: C-2 mower with C-3 brackets and drive?
If I recall correctly, the big L brackets that attach to the finals are the same part number for both the Loboy C-2 and C-3. The mule drive has a different part number, but I do not know what the difference is and am not sure it makes a difference. The angle iron arm width on the mower is adjustable on the C-2's and C-3's. The C-2 lift parts on a Loboy are unique (I have only seen a picture of the setup), but I believe the chain lift used on a standard Cub works okay. I was going to mount a C-2 to my Loboy by piecing things together like you are suggesting, but found a Woods 42 for the Loboy that was in better shape. I cannot raise the Woods 42 up very high using my Loboy, so it does not make the greatest brush mower. I do have a fast hitch on that tractor and it requires special brackets to work with the fast hitch. --Lee
