It's entirely possible that your hood was changed out at some point or was painted a different color by a previous owner a long time ago.

Okay....I didn't quite get the "Serial number 99536 to 106511" thinking my 199 is in there, but if they were only made in 1950, then okay. Anyway, the white would be a pain to maintain and I don't care much about the value. Kids ain't going to have much of an estate anyway after 4 kids and 4 colleges!

I heard or read somewhere that Farmall sometimes painted cubs to order for municipalities in their fleet colos. Could be that too.

Where on the hood did you find the white paint? A 57 hood would have had a whitish decal in the emblem area from the factory. A later repaint might have had white paint in that area.
