I have a 59CLF for my LoBoy. It was used on the Loboy so it has all the parts including a homemade mule drive. If I get a standard cub drive, can it be used on a standard cub?

Re: Woods 59CLF
I don't have a 59CLF to compare to, but I think the mule drive and drop brackets from the finals will be completely wrong for a standard Cub. Those are the two things that need to be longer to get the closely slung mower down to the ground on the taller tractor. Oh, and you'd need a different belt. You might be better off trying to trade the 59CLF for a 59C or 59CF for your standard cub.

Re: Woods 59CLF
I thought about the drive, but I didnt think about the drop brackets and the belt...fair points.
I had the mower on the Loboy a while ago and I had assembled it as best I could based on the explanation the PO gave to me in the rain back when I bought the cub. The blades turned when I was in neutral/clutch out well but when I put it in first and started, the engine slowed down and cut out. I figured I had the belt too tight and not patterned the belt right so it was turning the blades backwards, etc. So I said the heck with it, disconnected it and set it aside for a few weeks. I downloaded the manual so I have a good reference now. I will give it another shot with the Loboy soon.

With the deck off, you can turn the blades by hand and see if any of your spindles are tight. That's something that gets neglected when it comes to greasing time. If they don't turn freely, that will rob a lot of power from the tractor.

Re: Woods 59CLF
With the finals brackets for a regular cub you should be able to mount your mower and use the lowboy mule drive....been doing it for 5+ years myself....and using the loboy belt....

Re: Woods 59CLF
In the total scheme of things, a Lo-Boy with a Woods 59 is superior to an F-Cub with a Woods 59. The shorter wheelbase and tighter turning radius makes the Lo-Boy much more maneuverable, a benefit that you would appreciate when mowing lawns. I've used them both and the Lo-Boy is the better option, in my mind.

Re: Woods 59CLF
Bill is dead on...loboy is a better mowing package...in my case....its for headroom. When you get up to master cub mechanic....you can adjust the steering stops and tighten the turning radius even a little more....
