Total Re-wire

Postby Luke470 » Tue May 30, 2017 12:52 pm

going to be doing a total re-wire of one of my cubs.
When I bought it everything (electrically) was shot from the ignition switch on forward.

I've already bought an alternator (One of the mini chevys)

Parts I need:
Ignition switch
Ammeter
Alternator brackets (will steiners "farmall cub" bracket set work with the mini chevy 1 wire?)

Which rotary switch do I need? The 3 or 4 position?
Anything else?

I'm planning on doing the electronic ignition. What spark plug wires should I use with that?

As always thanks for the help!

If you're running an alternator, you just need the 3-position switch.

Since you're going with electronic ignition you can use the composite plug wires if you want to.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

I too was wondering about the brackets for this alternator, does anyone have any experience with the ones Steiners sells?

Single wire alternator, no need for a diode. 3 wire alternator you need a diode.
