Cub Tranny

Postby jpate831 » Tue May 09, 2017 10:30 pm

Hello Everyone!

My '47 Cub's transmission has quite a growl in first gear and reverse, and neutral kind of sounds like there's a marble getting kicked around in there or something. Second and Third gears are quiet and normal. Everything shifts normally, and there's no jumping out of gear or anything. It's just noisy. I was thinking it probably needs that 1st and Reverse sliding gear for sure, and maybe a couple new input shaft bearings. Is it possible to change any of that through the top by just taking the shifter off, or does the tranny need to come all the way out of the tractor?

Thanks.

It needs to come out to pull the shaft.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
