One more for the Restored
Gentlemen, and Ladies,
I would like to submit another "restored" Cub for your viewing pleasure. Please feel free to compliment, question, criticize or just look.
The tractor is an original 1962 F Cub.... well almost. The engine was replaced due to a cracked block with a re-built '71 154 block. The front bolster was replaced for the same reason. No serial # plate, but H codes on all cast parts indicate a '62. I used IH primer and 2150 with hardener with good success. After getting the rims powder coated, I fell in love with the Silver and got a little carried away with it, oh well. It looks better than it did 2 years ago. And runs better too!
I know it has been said many times before, but here it is again. Ya'll are awesome!!!
I have enjoyed this forum and restoration so much, my wife has suggested that I do another one
with one caveat...we donate it to a charity! A specific charity named ROCK (Ride On Center for Kids), located in our community.
So guess what?
Yep, I bought #2.
We will see you on the Restoration board!

Also, and I know this will disappoint some of you, I converted it to 12V with Pertronix ignition.

12 V makes me sad, Pertronix makes me happy, and you donating one to charity, well that's priceless. Great idea and good luck

Re: One more for the Restored
Hi,
Here is the pic you wanted to see, of how the tachometer mounts to the steering post.
The name plates on the hood originally had lettering that could be seen from a distance, I can't see what yours say in your pics, if they say Farmall. Here is a page from the Cub owner's manual showing it. I don't know if you have any interest in changing them, I think I have seen on here that people paint the letters.

Re: One more for the Restored
Glen,
Thanks for the picture. It looks like I am missing an important piece...the horizontal tab that bolts to the steering column. I purchased the tachometer with bracket on ebay and did not get the missing link...
I have not yet figured out how to paint the inside of the letters without making a big mess. Any ideas?
Not yet, willing to spend over $300 to replace.

Re: One more for the Restored
Thank you for the compliments and suggestions. Here are a couple more pics.
Now, I need to get this thing going,
...repainted and start offering "Vintage Lawn Care" services to recoup some of my bank account.
Is there a Woods mower section on this forum by chance?

Re: One more for the Restored
Hi,
Here is a woods 42 owner's manual, I'm not sure what age yours is, this manual is from 1974.
There is another one from 1986, it says.
There might be a sticker with the model number on it somewhere, maybe on the rear shield.

You could also offer to sell the 154 LoBoy as a project tractor. Surely someone needs a challenge. Stan
