Engine Swap

Postby rule4 » Thu Mar 16, 2017 11:55 am

What issues will I have replacing an engine on a 47 cub with a cracked block with a 55A cubs engine. Are the two engines interchangeable? I am mostly concerned with the block, will it bolt on. Is there anything else I should be concerned about doing this swap?

same engine, some externals might be different, such as the 55 had a distributor and 47 has a mag, exhaust on 55 went down , other than that no issues

What do you mean by 55"A"? If talking about the Farmall A, completely different engine....

Disregard the "a" that was a typo. It's a 55 farmall cub's engine.

I was curious about the"A" as well but being as it it was just a typo, you'll have no problem with the swap.

Only problem I had and I was swapping an original 52 for a 184 Cub motor was getting the clutch plate lined up properly other than that was pretty easy.
