Re: Confused about the Gas tank/Hood
After wire brushing and scraping I have determined that it is in fact a 1949, The engine code is 10-24-S, Transmission code 11-2-S, Trans Tube 10-21-S, all other parts that I can see right now are all "S" except the Touch Control is from 1956 (3-27-B). It will need a new wiring harness for sure, but until I can afford one I will make my own so to clear up all the cracked and exposed wires.
