Hole in exhaust manifold

Postby noisyone » Thu Mar 02, 2017 9:13 pm

I have a 1967 Cub Lo-Boy. I've been working on it to try to get it running better. I noticed a small, perfectly round hole in the exhaust manifold. I can't figure out how to get a picture attached. I can't imagine it's supposed to be there, but thought I would ask for advice. Exhaust leaks out of it, so I considered just plug welding it shut. Any ideas? Anyone else have this?

Is this the hole you mean? If so, it belongs there. It keeps moisture from accumulating in the manifold.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Ya, I think that's it. Is it normal that exhaust comes out of it? Seems like it's a leak to me.

By the way, thanks for the quick reply. That was my first post and this site is awesome.

I'm sure some exhaust comes out but it would be minimal. If you seal it you could start having problems.
