IH manure spreader

Postby pan60 » Wed Feb 15, 2017 2:08 pm

hi all.
What is the difference between the IH 100 manure spreader and the 200 manure spreader? I assume size, anyone know how much a difference there is?

I think the 100 is 12' and the 200 is 15'8".

I think the 200 is also a bit wider, maybe taller. Just looking at them, the 200 looks longer. I think the 100 is about 35 or 40 bushel while the 200 is about 60 or 65.

I believe the 100 is a 40 bushel, and the 200 is a 65. There was other variations. I have a 200-H, the "H" being for horse drawn. It has a forward axle and a seat. I have heard that there was a 100-H and that it was three-wheeled. I've never seen one though. I have also heard that the 100 was developed to pair with a Cub, but can't substantiate this.

No, the 100 was being built 5 or 6 years before the Cub came out.

Makes sense. I was just going off of what I heard. I looked at the manuals here and it was dated 1948, but it doesn't necessarily mean that's the first printing since they were obviously revised. I found dates for the same manual from 1949 and 1950 as well.

Maybe it was developed to pair with an "A"? Although I think an A could handle a 200. Does anyone know if the "H" spreaders were developed first or simultaniously? Or later?
