Non Fast Hitch Helper Spring?

Postby Brandon Webb » Sat Nov 26, 2016 6:26 pm

Went today and looked at some Cubs one of them had a rockshaft helper spring for a non fast hitch. I've seen the rockshafts with the tab before but hadn't ran across a complete setup still on a tractor. I know this is pictured in the 201 planter Manual, was this only used with the planter or with other attachments? Anyone have one?

I have a rockshaft or two with the added tab, but that is it, no spring or bracket.
The 201 manual is the only implement manual that I have seen this piece referenced in.
I've also never seen a complete one on a Cub, but I don't get out much to the shows.

You can modify an old hand lift to do the same thing.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Any idea if this tab was only on rockshafts built while the planter was available 52-56? I checked my stash and I only have one with the tab. I have made an offer to buy the one I found if the seller agree's to sell it off the junk cub its on. They could be reproduced easily and I checked the parts manuals and that spring is the same as the hand lift spring.

There is a helper spring on mine. I'll see if I can get a picture tomorrow.
