Vegtable seed planter?

Postby Jason (IL) » Fri Sep 16, 2005 11:51 am

I was looking through my archives book the other day. I looked at the vegtable seed planter pages carefully. I have never seen one except in my parts book I have and in that book. I know they are very rare and know of only one person who has one but will not sell it for it took him 12 years to find it. I was wondering if there are any pictures out there of one mounted on a tractor. I would like to find one like a lot of thers would. It would make an excellent addition to ones collection. But I think that is the only IH impliment thet I don't have. Thoughts, besides good luck, I would use it in the garden every year if I could grab a hold of one. Rather pricey too I would imagin.

HAve a good one y'all and abetter one tomorrow.

No I teach High School Shop Classes here in northern Illinois. I guess I've been watching Smokey and Bandit too much. I get the habit once in a while. A change up is good once in a while.

As some of you know I still drive truck & now the saying is Have a good one driver or neighbor.
The other one is Be safe & Be care full and some drivers add God Bless.
If it's been broken I did it.
If its not broken wait till I touch it.

Ok so my age is showing. The best part of being an old gezzer is that you are still here to be one.
My highschool class is having a 55th reunion today. So I guess I came by age legaly. !/2 of the class is dead or in a nursing home. You can't imagine how good I feel when my wife says won't you ever grow up!
As my 96 year old father said "old is good. Dead is bad"

Cole made and still makes a vegetable seed planter for the Cub. While not IH, It would be cheaper and usable. It is rear mount instead of midmount.
Best,
Mike

Jason, it would be interesting to see a few phoros of your Cub "tools" over here in France there are not too many attachments for our Cubs.
I have just recently found a McCormick Lease Lend potato planter which was originaly designed for horse traction.
At shows it attracts enormous interest and long deep discussions carry on over it as to how it works, what the tray that turns on top is for etc.
It is our intention in the spring to use it to sow spuds here in the village, hoping for fine weather and good pics to post.

WEll I went to the reunion. No wonder they had it in the afternoon. Most don't and or can't go out at night. As Beverly and I got there I asked who are all these old people. Turns out they were my classmates or spouses. Never felt so out of place or young in my life. Guess my continued interest in life and old rusty iron with you guys has been the fountain of youth. I was not the youngest in years but danced more and had more fun that most. Thank you all. This bunch has been the spark of life I needee.
