Adding a grease fitting for clutch pedal

Postby wrz » Wed Nov 09, 2016 2:44 pm

Later tractors have a grease fitting on the torque tube for the clutch pedal. Has anybody added a fitting on an older tractor torque tube to lube the clutch pedal while it is all apart. Good idea?

Hi,
I have seen on here that guys have put the grease fitting on.
If you have a Cub apart to where it is easy to drill and tap a hole for the fitting, I'd say yes, it's worthwhile.
The Cubs without the fitting should be oiled at the top of the round part that fits against the housing, so the oil runs in and down into the clutch linkage.
Here is a pic from TM Tractor of the base of the clutch pedal, the shiny area needs lubing. It is inside the housing. :)
