Image Server Update

Postby lildog » Thu Sep 15, 2005 6:22 pm

Well, Fellas, we're gtting there. I've got the server upgraded and the image library software installed and running. Give me a couple of days to poke around and get familiar with it and its features.

After I get a feel for it, I'll want about 5-10 "test" users to kick the tires for about a week so we can see if all the settings are where we want them. So, be thinking about whether you want to be a test user.

Also, start thinking about if you'd like to be a moderator of the gallery. I would really like to get folks who don't already moderate this board for that job. I'll get back to you on this.

Suggestion

Postby allenlook » Thu Sep 15, 2005 7:00 pm

Suggestion: Can we get some test pictures like the hot rod magazines with scantily clad bikini babes lounging over the tires of a few Farmall Cubs?

If you look, uh, long and hard, you can almost see a tractor in the background of some of these pictures.

Well, there were a few labor pains for this baby. About an hour into it, I had to delete the whole thing and start over. But it's back up, and with a much better version of the software, I might add.

I have 5 test users as of this moment and will welcome a few more for this phase. What I'm wanting is folks who will register, upload some pictures, play with the features and let me know what they like and what they'd like to see improved. I'm also trying to hammer out some configuration details (such as individual disk quotas, file size limits, etc.) and want to see some "real" use to help make these decisions.

So, anyone else who wants to be a tester, just PM me and I'll send you the link. I'll take a handful more.

Oh, and Dad... You should be ashamed of yourself! I know you're not, but you should be. :D

I have all the testers I need for now. We'll continue to kick the tires for a day or two, then I'll start assigning admins and give them a chance to become familiar with their tools and duties. If all goes well, we should be ready to go "public" within the week.
