Casting Date
I thought my tractor was a 1949 but now not sure. The Tractor Serial Numbers is 108797 and according to the chart that would make it 1950 because it is between 99536 - 121453. The casting date looks like the letter code looks like a O but could be a Q the chart says a Q is 1947 and a O 1968? the block part number is 251641R2 does that help to narrow this down? Thanks again for your help.

Re: Casting Date
Depending on where the casting date is located. It is possible the bolster had been cracked and replace with one from 1950.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: Casting Date
If you check the rest of the tractors casting dates you should be able to get a general consensus and determine a year.
Raymond Durbans data base at the top of this page (first one under topics) is a great source to look at.

Re: Casting Date
Hi,
Welcome to the website. Here is info from TM Tractor showing where the casting codes are, and the 2nd page shows the dates.
There is an engine serial number too, stamped into the block. It is not the same as the tractor serial number, but close, unless the engine has been replaced. Here is a page from the Cub owner's manual showing where it is.
The block part number is probably 251341R2. They changed the last number of it over the years, but probably not any help identifying the year, unless it shows somewhat when they were used, in Raymonds database. They used R1 - R8 through the years, I think.

This is what happened to mine. Casting dates say 1951, bolster serial number says 1948. The best you can do is locate as many casting dates as possible to narrow it down.
