Re: Fuel strainer will not stop flow when shut off.
I have used waxed dental floss as a substitute packing on the fuel shutoff valve handle. It will only work for this location. The OEM valve is a double seated valve, should seal when fully closed or fully open. Not in between those two points. FWIW, I added a 1/8 quick open 1/4 turn valve to the outlet side of my OEM valve. I'm feeling sheepish.
TM was/is gracious about my issue.
I am no stranger to wrenching and equipment and the fuel would not shut off.
Today I blew air into inlet of strainer and opened and closed the valve ,with valve functioning as it should.
Yes , same direction as when it had been on the tractor.
Going to be a while ,but boy I'm wanting to put it back on and try again!
Ahh well. Far to go .
