Crankshaft Pulley Puller

Postby AL Farmall Boy » Wed Aug 24, 2016 11:39 am

I am looking for a crankshaft pulley puller like many of you use here on the site. I am wanting to use it on cub engines and the super A and 140 engines too. Having said that I would like a puller that will fit either one. Does anyone out there know of a polar I can purchase for this or does anyone out there make them and sell them ? I've had plans for a while to make my own but Time just does not allow and it has come down to the point to where I need one now.

I was just needing one as well and time was limited. I found this nice one someone made viewtopic.php?f=11&t=34545 and took a torch and made my own. Used threaded rod for my rods and a bottle jack. Material is 5" channel iron. Worked great and just removed my Cub pulley without damage. Pay not attention to the 2 offset drilled holes, they were already in the metal.

That would have been Ralph in Kentucky. He used to salvage Cubs and has since retired. I'm not sure how to get in touch with the guy who made that puller but I am after something very similar that will work on all 3 tractors

Earle Fauble, a forum member, was making them. Don't know if he still does. Forum name, "Earle", i think..

You might want to measure the diameter of the back of the pulleys and see how much difference there is. If the slot is too wide, you risk breaking the sides of the Cub pulley. I talked to Earl at the Tug and don't think he's making the pullers anymore. You might PM Farmertan and see if he is.

FarmerTan isn't making them either. I need to get the sizes of the 2 pulleys. Thanks for the help.
