Plug Wires

Postby Luke470 » Wed Aug 17, 2016 8:00 pm

I installed the pertronix electric ignition. I'd like to replace the plug wires (I haven't run it yet but I believe I've got metal core wires which I hear is a no no with the pertronix).
what wires should I use?

You might be right about using resistor wires. However I have run copper core wires on my Cub for probably 8 or 10 years with a Pertronix ignition. Opened the plug gap an extra 0.010" and am using a Flame-Thrower coil. Have not touched the system since and use it regularly.

Metallic core wires work fine with the pertronix. Of all the units I've installed, I've only changed the plug wires on one, that one I put spiral core supression wires on. Just because it had pretty shabby wires and I had a supply of spiral core wire on hand.
