My cub started right up this morning. I used my 22 sickle mower to cut around the lake. Then, with no warning it died. Started right back up, but quickly died again. It did that for many times. Any load, it died. But it dies after a few seconds anyway. Gas is getting to the carb. I disconnected the filter, in case it was not getting air. I added gas to the tank. Nothing has helped. Any ideas?

Re: what's wrong?
Sounds like a fuel issue. The float might be sticking or the high speed jet has dirt in it.

I suspect you are right. There was gas leaking out of the carb. I'll try tapping it, and will probably have to disasemble it.

DO NOT tap on the carb!
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: what's wrong?
Agree with Barnyard, instead of a rebuild, you might be looking at a replacement carb and they are quite pricy.
