It ran, and she cried.......

Postby ctltmp » Sat Aug 13, 2016 7:13 pm

Some of you may have seen my posts asking for advice on a 49 Cub I've been fighting with. It was my wife's grandpaps tractor and used on her great grandpaps farm. Old grandpaps name was Nimrod so its labeled Nimrods "49". This rascal fought me every step.

Today I had her come out after I timed it and was ready to try to start it. It finally fired once and I told her "it's gonna go". Finally old Nimrod gave up and started. My wife cried like a child when she heard it run, I wasn't expecting that. Made it worth every drop of sweat and dollar I put in it.

Can't wait to see her reaction when it's all done. But that's a ways off.

It was a touching moment. Wish I was a little further along on the project. There's a cub about 20 mi. away, guy is asking 750.........it looks complete. Between he'd take 500. Would make a good 2nd cub! Haha!

Great story on your cub experiences. Sounds like you are on the verge of developing "multi-cubitis", it's an incurable disease that can only be treated by acquiring another cub, preferably one that does not run.  Stan

My problem is space. The cub is no longer on Craigslist. :(
