Do you have a larger photo, showing more detail? Showing the coil, ballast resister?, and distributor.
Right now I'm thinking the tractor has been converted to 12 volts. As to the wire connection on the side of the distributor, I don't know. Is it cover over the stud and nut on the side of the distributor?

Looks a lot like a distributor I recently installed on a neighbor's Continental flat head, though I cannot remember the brand name right now.
