Hydraulic outputs
Has any one added outputs to a cub? I'd like to make a log splitter and it would be much cheaper if I could use the pump on the cub, then I only need to buy a ram, a wedge and a valve. I'm not even sure if the pump on the cub could handle the pressure a splitter requires though. Has any one tried this before?

Re: Hydraulic outputs
If you search, I think you can find the set up that Rudi did (it's probably in the "how to's"). You'll have slow movement of the ram due to the size of the pump, but that was not a concern for him.

I didn't see it in the how to's, if someone knows where to find it, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Re: Hydraulic outputs
Search function top of page. Search for log splitter. Should be a number of topics, discussions, photos.

Rudi's log splitter construction and discussions. Photos missing.
You need to do quite a bit of math before ordering parts and starting to build a log splitter.
Couple of considerations. Type of wood you plan on splitting. My 24 ton home built log splitter will not split sycamore tree trunks.
The Cub's hydraulic system is limited to 1200 psi.
Compare the cost of a home built log splitter to a commercial built one.

I have an excuse. CRS.
