cub buzz saw

Postby jakeesspoo » Sun Sep 04, 2005 9:09 pm

I saw one of those cub buzz saws that mount to rear pto on ebay for sale. It looks interesting. I sent the pic to my dad and he said it looks like it made some sausage out of some farmers and to stay away from it. I remember reading or seeing a picture of some of you guys using one at a cubfest. How did it work? Was it safe? All things considered with any saw thats dangerous. Also my tractor currently has a flywheel on the pto shaft from the woods mower Im assuming this comes off with a gear puller. Also some of the pics I see of implements look like there lifted up from a arm from back of tractor. My hydraulics are only on the right side of tractor by fuel bowl, am i missing something?

Jake:

Read this Buzzsaw thread. It is kind of interesting.

As I have said before, any blade with teeth rotating at high speed demands your complete attention, otherwise serious damage will be the result.

With that said, these tools have been used for years and years, and when used properly they are definite assets. However, the propensity of people to try to multi-task when using something like this, increases the risk of injury proportionally to the amount of attention diverted by other interests.

As you can see, Em, the girls and I have been enjoying our buzzsaw again this year :!:

If you have the original type Woods v-pulley on the PTO shaft, it has a tapered hub. Remove the bolts holding the hub to the pulley and screw them evenly into the other, currently empty bolt holes. They will pop the pulley off the hub and it will all come off.
