Anyone have factual knowledge of what would have been list retail price for a 1957 Farmall Cub (no attachments) in 1957 or '58?
Also, thanks to the host(s) for this nice site.
Thanks
Ron

Source of the information, Farm Equipment Guide 1995. Personal note, quite a number of errors in the reference.
1957 Farmall Cub. Advertised price $2725-. Loan value $1882-.

I doubt a Cub cost anywhere near that in 1957.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I agree, that may be flawed information. I would question $2700 in 1957 for a Cub. That would really surprise me if accurate.

Wow, I agree! That's nearly $2,200 more than in 1947. As Eugene said, quite a number of errors in the reference. That has to be one of them. TractorData doesn't list a price for a Cub, but it lists a 1954 Super A at $1,400.

Examples of errors in the reference.Eugene wrote:Personal note, quite a number of errors in the reference.
F Cub Lo-Boy. List price $2020-. Weight 1655 lbs.
F-Cub and I-Cub List price $3960-. Weight 1426 lbs.
Another section, the I-Cub's list price is $3960- but it now weighs 1620 lbs.

Left hand column, about half way down, List Prices. I couldn't open the List Prices portion of the site.

Re: List price for Farmall Cub in 1957?
Don't you love these "authoritative" sites that evidently copy each other and base the whole thing on what somebody either made up or thinks they remember from 60 years ago? Note that Farm Equipment Guide is a reference for current used prices. They also try to list last new price. On the Cub, they get things mixed up. They treat FCUB as a different model from later ones. But then show the same list price as they have for 1979. You have to be real careful quoting it.
Here are the numbers straight from PL- Revision Number 36. I don't know the publication date but it probably came out when the 40/60 tractors were introduced in 1958. It includes prices for both Kind 801 (1957 style) and Kind 802 (1958 style). Kind 801 would have been for remaining stock. I don't know if the price had been reduced since they were left overs.
Kind 801 with standard equipment: $1,082
Kind 802 with standard equipment: $1,246.
Keep in mind that standard equipment was not the same for both tractors. 802 included anti-freeze, battery ignition and a starter. An equipment group could be added to each to make more common configurations:
To 801 $181.50:
Battery ignition, starter and lights
Foam seat
Touch Control
Adjustable front axle
Power take-off
To 802 $152.26:
Lights (with red rear, no rear work light)
Foam seat
Touch Control
Adjustable front axle
Power take-off

Re: List price for Farmall Cub in 1957?
We have a receipt in pdf manuals from 1957. Cub, 144 cults, 174 planter, a Cub "153 ???? plow, grader blade for $1695. Not sure if that is supposed to be a 152 disc plow or a 193 moldboard. The scan is not that great.
