Power Take-off Lubrication

Postby Bob Hawley » Sun Sep 04, 2005 12:53 pm

It's been awhile for me to post, but I have been on the site for a lot of reference. I've come to a problem I can't get around. I would like to drain and refill the power take-off unit. I have looked over the manual and also clean computes(same material) and for the life of me, I cannot find the three points indicated. Every bolt I loosen seems to be holding a cover. Could someone straighten me out on this, thanks in advance, Bob Hawley

Bob, if you are referring to the pto on a standard cub or low boy it gets its lubrication form the transmisison and doesn't have a seperate oil supply. If you are referring to the right angle belt driveI believe it has a drian plug, but will have to look at mine when I am down at the shed a little later today.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Thanks John, I'll see if that will do. I was going by the manual and was looking for the belt pulley housing for the 3 plugs that are indicated. Bob

Bob, don't forget the shot of grease in the top of the bearing above the PTO.
